Galley Kitchen
Two parallel walls of cabinets. Efficient for small spaces and older homes. Typically 10–14 linear feet per side.
L-Shaped
Cabinets on two adjacent walls. Most flexible layout. Works in spaces from 8×8 up to large open-concept kitchens.
U-Shaped
Cabinets on three walls with an open fourth. Maximum storage. Needs at least 8 feet between opposite walls.
Island Kitchen
L-shaped or U-shaped plus a center island. Popular in contemporary and open-concept homes. Needs 10×10+ floor.
